The original Courtyard layout with an atrium. Rooms nicely updated with up to date furnishing. Still separate toilet, tub with shower in a closable separate area. A full closet with lots of hangers and an ironing board with iron (these seem to be disappearing in remodels). Microwave, mini fridge, large screen tv with streaming options, and lots of power outlets (AC, usb-a, usb-c) even next to the couch. Great staff, friendly and attentive. A small parking charge at $7/night. Overall a nice comfortable hotel, easy parking and good rates.
The front desk staff are very helpful. The rooms are very quiet. Little league boys were everywhere. When in the room we couldn't hear them at all.
The room was spotless, comfortable bed and pillows. Service excellent from check in to check out! Bistro server super friendly and attentive! New carpet in room and hallways and the courtyard a nice area to enjoy fresh air and sunshine! Also love no pet hair or barking dogs, sorry you animal lovers. It was a great stay, and a good location. Jeff the GM has managed this property for years, deserves .
Nice spot to stay in West Des Moines. Lots of food, shopping and activities around the area. The only downfall is there is lots of walking to get to elevators.
Room was clean, bed was comfortable, fitness room was very convenient, and the breakfast was perfect. The room had a little fridge and coffee maker as well. I was also able to log in and get an early work meeting done using the wifi they had available. I would stay again if I had to travel for business in the area in the future.
The room was very clean, the front desk attendant was amazing and the Gal behind the bar, on a quiet Monday night was really personable and I enjoyed picking her brain about things to do in Des Moines. She pointed me to a great local's style bar nearby where I had an excellent time (The Flying Moose, which I also reviewed). The people at spots like this, a regular but clean and nicely appointed hotel make it a notable experience!
Very nice place, service and amenities are great. They are currently renovating the pool, so it's not available for use. One thing I wish Marriott would consider is lowering the pet fee or have incremental fees based on dog size. Marriott is easily twice as much as other hotels. And their pet fee is about half the entire cost of the stay. Hopefully, they'll take a look to make it more affordable for families.
The staff and service is great here. Very friendly and helpful, definitely went above and beyond when we checked in. The rooms are a nice size and clean, but the big con is that the bed is not at all comfortable. They definitely haven't rotated this mattress in a REALLY long time. You can feel the indentations where people have slept. But thus far, that's my only complaint. May update this review later.
